The Penticton Vees have signed Delta Hockey Academy netminder Jack Utsunomiya to a WHL Scholarship and Development Agreement.
The Surrey, BC product joined the CSSHL for the 2023/24 U15 season posting a 6-7-0 record with a 4.29 GAA and .893 SV%. The following U15 Prep season would be a breakout one for Utsunomiya as he went 12-4-1 with 3 shutouts, a 1.99 GAA and .927 SV%. He would play all five playoff games for Delta, posting a 5-0-0 record, 2.30 GAA and .942 SV% with 1 shutout as Delta upset the number one seed Northern Alberta Xtreme to win the 2025 CSSHL U15 Prep Western Championships.
At the conclusion of the season the Vees selected Utsunomiya in the fifth round, 96th overall at the 2025 WHL Draft.
This season Utsunomiya has a 5-0-1 record with a 1.81 GAA and .955 SV% in six games with the Delta U17 Prep team.
